Environmental Management Systems - National Implementation Plan
The Environmental Management Systems (EMS) Implementation Plan was developed to implement Australia’s National Framework for Environmental Management Systems in Agriculture.
The Plan was developed by a joint Australian/ State Government EMS Implementation Working Group and was endorsed by NRM Ministerial Council in October 2003. The Plan outlines the roles and activities to be undertaken by Australian, State and Territory Government agencies to support the adoption of EMS across Australia in partnership with communities and industry, as detailed within the National Framework.
The five year Plan addresses industry concerns that the current momentum on EMS be maintained and supported, following the finalisation of the National Framework. The endorsement of the Plan demonstrates the Council’s continuing support for the voluntary development of EMS in agriculture.
