Future Programs
Funding for the National Action Plan for Salinity and Water Quality (NAP) and the Natural Heritage Trust (NHT) finishes in June 2008. The Natural Resource Management (NRM) future programs team is identifying options for successor program/s.
A number of reviews commissioned by the Australian Government and internal evaluations are helping in the development of the new programs. The successor programs will aim to build on the strengths and achievements of the NAP and NHT. They will also address emerging issues in natural resource management and define the Australian Government’s role as a natural resource manager in partnership with key stakeholders, including industry.
