Technical Market Access Successes

Helping Aussie farmers export agricultural produce

DAFF works hard to maintain and improve opportunities for Australian agricultural products. Some examples of technical market access successes include;

  • The United States agreeing to Australia’s proposed changes to beef testing arrangements which avoided disruption to our $1.2 billion beef trade to this market.
  • Thailand assenting to AQIS continuing to certify according to arrangements in place prior to the introduction of new plant quarantine regulations, preventing a grain export market loss of around $200 million.
  • Agreement by the United States to cherry access from mainland Australia, adding to the previous access from Tasmania.
