Supporting Aquaculture Business
The Federal Government plays a significant role in supporting aquaculture through national programs for research, quarantine, fish health, food safety, market access & trade, business development and farm management assistance.
Through the Ministerial Council on Fisheries and Aquaculture and its sub-committees, the Federal Government takes a major leadership and coordination role with State and Territory Governments to ensure consistency and whole-of-government consideration of major aquaculture development issues such as environment, fish health, research etc.
