Data Management
Data Management – Supporting science by making data available
The data management team within Information and Risk Sciences provide services and advice to BRS programs, DAFF Divisions and external groups. The services includes:
- design, implementation and management of systems;
- providing consistent and timely access to a large quantity of high quality natural resource and socio-economic data:
- using innovative search and discover tools.
The team has the capacity to assist clients to meet their database, data management, quality assurance and product distribution requirements and, in partnership with the IRS Online Services team, integrate these solutions into web developments.
Data Management can:
- Assist with database design, development and deployment
- Provide assistance with the integration of GIS and Relational Databases
- Develop search discovery and dissemination solutions for the full range of digital products
- Offer technical advice and assistance with the implementation of new standards for describing spatial data
