Plant Biosecurity, within Biosecurity Australia, develops quarantine policies that protect Australia’s horticultural industries and the natural environment from exotic pests and diseases.
Our team of scientific and technical specialists assess the risks associated with the importation of exotic pests and diseases on plants and plant products.
Plant Biosecurity participates in the development of international quarantine standards and works to develop quarantine expertise in our region.
We also prepare scientific and technical submissions that help to maintain and open overseas markets for Australian plants and plant products.
