Biosecurity Development and Communications, within Biosecurity Australia, has the following responsibilities:
- The Development unit works with specialists in Biosecurity Australia and other organisations to refine risk analysis and systems.
- The Communications unit supports Biosecurity Australia's engagement with stakeholders and provides public information.
- The Chief Finance Officer manages Biosecurity Australia's responsibilities under the Financial Management and Accountability Act 1997 and provides advice to the Chief Executive on these matters.
- The Branch also provides general support services, including for governance arrangements, human resource management and information management coordination to the prescribed Agency.
