Cargo Containers
Currently, AQIS is inspecting both the external and internal surfaces of imported empty containers from Giant African Snail (GAS) countries/ports at wharves throughout Australia. This process will continue. AQIS has now implemented a co-regulation scheme under which empty container park operators will conduct inspection and treatment activities for empty containers using a compliance agreement.
