AQIS aims to approve all import permit applications within 10 business days from the date of receipt. If any section of the application is completed incorrectly or further information is required, AQIS will attempt to contact you. This may result in a longer application processing time. There are two options for completing and submitting the Application to Import Live Fish and Drosophila into Australia.

- Commodity details and additional information
- Importer declaration and payment

2. Download, complete and submit manual application form (post, fax, or scan and email)
The minimum fee for manual lodgement is $150.00 and assessment charges will apply. View the charging schedule for import permit applications to ensure you have authorised sufficient payment.
You can pay for the processing of your manual application by one of the following ways:

Word [132kb] - Bank cheque: Post a bank cheque payable to the 'Collector of Public Monies, DAFF'. This must be in Australian dollars and your manual application will need to be submitted by post.
