Quarantine and Exports Advisory Council (QEAC)

The Quarantine and Exports Advisory Council (QEAC) is a non-statutory advisory body that was established as part of the Government's 1997 response to the Nairn Review of Australian quarantine. The Council provides advice to the Minister and the Director of Quarantine on major quarantine and export certification policy issues and strategic directions for AQIS, and ensures effective consultation between AQIS, industry and stakeholders.

QEAC is chaired by Mr John Crosby
