Animal Pests and Diseases
Animal pests and diseases are a major threat to Australia's livestock and poultry industries and an outbreak could impact on our access to export markets and undermine livelihoods.
Australia is free of the world's worst animal diseases such as foot-and-mouth disease and avian influenza H5N1, but there is an ongoing need to practice good biosecurity and report the first signs of disease if we are to maintain this status.
It doesn't matter if you are a producer or keep pets, you have a critical role in protecting your animals.
