Climate Change and Productivity Research

The Climate Change and Productivity Research Program is part of Australia’s Farming Future and will fund research and development activities to:

  • assist the agriculture sector to manage emissions
  • encourage on-farm adaptation and adjustment to climate change.

Funding will be provided for research projects and on-farm demonstration pilots that:

  • significantly contribute to reducing emissions and improving adaptive capacity
  • encourage collaboration across research organisations and state agencies to ensure large scale funding proposals and cross sectoral application.

Research activities will be identified through a competitive process. Decisions on funding will be made by the Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry, on advice from the Rural Research and Development Council and the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry.

Expressions of Interest for projects addressing the research priorities of Australia’s Farming Future are invited for funding from the Climate Change Research Program in 2008–09. The deadline for Expressions of Interest is 5.00 pm, 5 September 2008.

Technical feasibility references as mentioned in assessment criteria six are not required in written form at this stage. Applicants should provide names and contact details for two referees who may be contacted during the initial assessment phase.
