December 2006

FarmBis Annual Industry Survey

The 2006 FarmBis Annual Industry Survey is the fourth survey of industry organisations. The survey targets industry organisations classified as producer and non producer groups, Natural Resource Management bodies and other industry support bodies that represent farming groups (eg. youth, women).

FarmBis Training Provider Survey

The 2006 FarmBis Training Provider Survey provides information concerning the effectiveness of AAA FarmBis in increasing awareness of the program by training providers and their participation in course delivery.

FarmBis Mid-Term Review 2006 (Prepared by PricewaterhouseCoopers)

DAFF commissioned a Mid-Term Review of the AAA FarmBis program.  This process was done in conjunction with participating States and the Northern Territory as part of the ongoing monitoring and evaluation of the program.

Survey of FarmBis Program Participants 2006 (Prepared by Solutions Marketing and Research)

DAFF commission’s annual follow-up surveys of FarmBis training participants. This process is done in conjunction with the States as a part of the ongoing monitoring and evaluation of the program. This is the fifth follow up survey of participants commissioned by the Department.

National Farm Survey 2006 - AAA Package

ABARE was engaged by the Rural Policy and Innovation Division of DAFF to undertake a National Farm Survey to collect information on the awareness and uptake of key elements of the AAA package and other relevant DAFF programs.

FarmBis Annual Industry Survey

The 2003 FarmBis Annual Industry Survey is the third annual survey commissioned by DAFF. The survey targets industry organisations (commodity and non‑commodity) and Natural Resource Management bodies with either a National Action Plan for Salinity and Water Quality and/or Natural Heritage Trust responsibility.

DAFF commissions annual follow-up surveys of FarmBis training participants. This process is done in conjunction with the States as a part of the ongoing monitoring and evaluation of the program. The first survey was conducted in 1999, the second in 2000, the third in 2001 and the fourth in 2002 .

FarmBis Annual Industry Survey

This project is an extension to the project entitled "Providing Client-Driven Education and Training". The project enables a comparison to be made between the education & training priorities of industry and National Action Plan for Salinity and Water Quality groups and the types (categories) of courses undertaken through the FarmBis program.

Economic Evaluation of the FarmBis I Program and approaches to evaluate FarmBis II

ABARE have undertaken an economic analysis of the performance of FarmBis I, as part of the program's final assessment.  The evaluation also identifies the type of data that may feasibly be collected and used in a more in depth economic analysis of the second phase of the FarmBis program, FarmBis II.

As part of the Commonwealth-State Agreements, DAFF is responsible for conducting an annual industry survey on its Farm Business Management Program (FarmBis). Roy Morgan Research conducted this year’s survey by calling relevant industries and asking a series of questions.

The FarmBis program has a defined Monitoring and Evaluation Strategy. As part of this strategy, Hassall & Associates has been engaged to conduct the FarmBis Mid-Term and Annual Review of States' performance.
